Salvation

The reason for salvation (ie why do we need salvation) is sin.  However what is sin? 1 John 3:4 states “Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness.”  Man’s first sin was in the garden.  When Adam broke the law he brought sin to mankind.  This sin is inherited.  Everyone who is a descendant of Adam was born into the lawless (sin) nature. What needs to be clear here is, what it caused.  This breaking of God’s law caused (and still causes) a separation. Adam and all of his descendants, are criminals and must face justice for their crimes. The justice that is to come, is the punishment that God will deliver at the end of days. That punishment is death. The eternal torment of hell and separation from the love of God the Father. However, it is because of God’s love for us that he decided to send his Son so that he could take the punishment for us.  By Jesus, one who had not committed any sin, dying on the cross he took our place and bore the responsibility and the consequences of our sins. This act paid the sin debt that man owes to God. To be a recipient of this debt payment, all one has to do is believe that Jesus did die and was resurrected by God the Father.  The Roman’s Road to salvation are bible verses taken from Romans that explain that man has sinned, and that to restore himself to God, he must believe in Jesus Christ.

Romans 8:38-39 – For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
